Henry County Historical Society Museum

The Henry County Historical Society Museum is located in the home of Civil War General William Grose, which is listed on the Indiana Register of Historic Landmarks. It is a Victorian Italianate home that was built in 1870. The society, one of the oldest and largest in Indiana, was founded in 1887. The primary function of the museum is to promote and preserve the history of Henry County, Indiana. The museum offers tours to see the antiques, paintings, and current exhibits. The genealogy library is one of the best in the area. Monday - Friday 1 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Saturday 10 - 3 p.m. Admission: Adults $2; Students $1; Children 12 & under and members, no charge. Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame

Knightstown Historic Museum/Meeting House

Our mission is to actively preserve the history of this community. We urge searching our own backyards for items and stories that are so relevant to our humble beginnings. Our organization was initially started to preserve the identity of Century Old Homes. We were also actively involved in preserving the present Knightstown Academy and the Hoosier Gym, both Indiana Landmarks. The Historic Knightstown Inc. Museum houses and displays items and memorabilia that reflect historical events of the past and the present. Monthly meetings are conducted and several programs are presented by authors, artists, guest speakers, historians, and preservationists. Hours of Operation By Appointment 765-345-5224

The Middletown Historical Society is dedicated to preserving the written and pictorial history of Middletown and Fall Creek Township. We maintain a large collection of historic photos; genealogy files; family histories; birth; death and burial records; “The Middletown News” on microfilm; as well as many books, maps, local artifacts and displays.


New Castle High School Fieldhouse

Since 1959, the "World's Largest and Finest High School Fieldhouse." The building contains 81,555 square feet. Seating capacity 9,325. Home of the New Castle Trojans, and basketball greats: Kent Benson, Mr. Indiana Basketball 1973, and Steve Alford Mr. Indiana Basketball 1983. Also host to a variety of sporting events. Shirley Historical Society/Museum

Located in the Shirley Depot. Next to historical buildings of Dr. Wilson's old office and the Octagon House. Displays pieces of Shirley's past to keep the history alive. Items on display are of a wide variety such as tools, quilts, books, a telephone operators station, a barbers chair, a cast iron stove, and much more! Hoosier Gym

Home Gym of the Hickory Huskers, from the movie "Hoosiers" (1985) starring Gene Hackman and Barbara Hershey. The Gym is available for special events rental and tours. It is virtually unchanged from the 50’s, allowing visitors to experience the history of Indiana’s favorite sport. Come and step into the “History of Hoosier Hysteria”. Donations accepted. Vera's Little Red Dollhouse Museum

Wilbur Wright Birthplace & Museum

Displays a full-scale replica of the 1903 Wright Flyer, a replica of the birthplace home of Wilbur Wright, with period furnishings, original smokehouse and lots more.
